Elastic Rail Clip
basic information
These elastic rail clips (also known as spring clips) are core elastic clamping components of EU/US standard-compliant rail fastening systems, designed to apply continuous and stable clamping force on rail feet, buffer wheel-rail impact, and prevent lateral or longitudinal rail displacement under long-term dynamic loads. For EU markets conforming to EN 13481 specifications, clips are forged from 60Si2MnA spring steel, with common models including SKL series omega-shaped clips and Pandrol E-type clips, suitable for 350km/h high-speed rails, 25t axle-load heavy-haul lines and urban transit routes, fully compatible with Vossloh and Pandrol mainstream fastening systems. For North American markets following AREMA Chapter 5 rules, high-strength pre-assembled Pandrol Fastclips are required for 40t axle-load heavy-haul freight lines, supporting toolless quick installation to cut on-site construction costs. All products undergo strict quenching and tempering heat treatment, passing 5 million dynamic load cycle tests with less than 5% clamping force loss and no permanent deformation. Dacromet or hot-dip galvanized anti-corrosion coatings are applied, passing 1500+ hour neutral salt spray tests to adapt to extreme weather from -45℃ to 80℃. Insulation-sheathed versions are available for electrified lines, providing ≥10MΩ insulation resistance to avoid railway signal interference, and custom models with specified clamping force and size are available for special project demands.
